Pick Me! Pick Me! Me! Me! me me meme

Cool. Thanks to George, and the fact that my co-blogger Oliver is having an existential crisis at present, I get to answer my first ever internet meme.

What was I doing 10 years ago?

Following my heart and living in Long Island

Five snacks I enjoy in a perfect, non weight-gaining world

I live in that world. I mean I really have to try to put on weight. So...chocolate cake , proper pizza, cheese cake, the first good nectarine of a summer, and fejoas!

Five things I would do if I were a billionaire:

Launch a speculative raid on a the Rai. Mwah ha ha.

Or, if I wasn't feeling evil, I'd set up a trust to fund a decent left leaning New Zealand newspaper or magazine. And with the change, I would fund research and work on ways of improving governance, protecting human rights and reducing extreme poverty.

Three of my habits:

Worrying, not rinsing dishes, a powerful fear of telephones.

Five jobs that I have had:

NGO researcher, writer etc...
University Researcher
Writer (kind of)
Reporting analyst
Assistant public transport planner

Five places I have lived:

Long Island
London
Sydney
Madeira
Wellington

Five things to do today I did yesterday:

Rescued a weta from the shower (why do they always run off the paper and up your arm?)
Agonised over buying ties.
Drilled myself a very smart tie-holder.
Filled out a tax return.
Started another blog.

Five people I want to get to know more about:

Rawls, Tony Judt, Samantha Power, John Kenneth Galbraith and Jurgen Habermas (or, at least, I'd like to know more about what they know).

People to tag:

I'm pretty sure that (once you subtract George and Nikki, who have already responded to the meme) there aren't five people who actually read this blog...so I think I might be tagging into space.

Sorry, I did actually mean to tag you! I'm terrible with names, and his must have slipped into my brain instead of yours...

Cheers
