Hi Chris,

Thanks for your comment: it was provocative as usual and really quite (unintentionally?) funny. However, unfortunately, I've had to delete it. The reason being the term you used to describe homosexuals in the last sentance. You are welcome to republish the comment without that last sentance - that would be fine. Please remember that - while it is fine for you to comment here occasionally - you need to avoid openly prejudiced remarks.

hi chris,

at the end of the day the thing is that I think that that word is offensive, and it's my blog.

Great counter-argument, Terence. Good way to address my points.

And is it in fact your blog? The words you write on it are indeed owned by you, as per the Terms of Service:

'Member will retain copyright ownership and all related rights for information he or she publishes through Blogger'.

However, Google owns the server (blogger.com). Google owns the blog too. Google could shut down the blog whenever it pleased and for whatever reason, as is plainly evident from the Terms of Service:

'You agree that Pyra, in its sole discretion, may terminate your password, BlogSpot Site, use of the Service or use of any other Pyra service, and remove and discard any Content within the Service, for any reason'.

Your blog? Not really, Terence, not in any conventional sense at least. Not my blog either, but not yours in terms of owning it and being its sole operator in perpetuity.

fair enough chris,

I'm renting this blog space at present (albeit for a peppercorn rent - minus the pepper corn). any just like if I were renting my abode I have the right night to let you sit in my living room and make comments that offend me. Please - if you wish to comment on this blog in the future - refrain from making offensive comments.

does anyone own anything in the end? That's lame. 'in the end' the Crown/state owns all our property too (ok, ignore quite interesting arguments about Maori and their rights for the moment). But just because there may be a hierarchy of rights in the property system doesn't give me the right to come and take a dump on your (rented/bought) property.

leaving that matter aside, I can't understand why people can't be polite. Honestly.

NoRightTurn is wrong. Or, at least, he is selective with his information.

Comparing government spending only to GDP is a very limited way of gauging the level of growth. To be correct, he/she should compare it to inflation, population growth, etc, etc.

John Key, obviously, explained that government that spending had nominally increased and that it had also increased faster than inflation. Those points are correct, although they are also selective.
