Turtles Can Fly

.
I reviewed the movie Turtles Can fly shortly after I saw it in the film festival. The current issue of the Listener now has a review of it, which makes me think that it must be coming back to cinemas in New Zealand. My original review is here. Read it if you are interested; however, most importantly, go and see the movie.

Sorry, but I'd rather wait for the DVD (if it makes it that far). After all, why should I risk a lot of money in the theatre on what potentially is a bad film, when I can borrow it and view it for free in a few months?

hi Chris,

I was moved somewhat by your offer to pray for my recovery (although I note that you didn't mention what from) so you are welcome to, if you want, post a comment a month on this site (and you are free to reply to any of my responses). I would ask to you limit yourself to onece a month though and also to avoid offensive comments.

As such comment moderation remains on though and any comments that are in any way offensive to me will be blocked.

As for your comment here - movies don't cost that much and for a good film the extra money is well worth it for the experience. Besides the money goes to a good cause - the director of the film.

I meant I'd pray that you recover from reactive arthritis, and I have been doing that.

'In any way' offensive? Bloggers ought to be tougher than that.

OK, Terence, I'll be back in January (though I reserve the right to leave comments, even if they remain unpublished, if a post of yours demands it). Thank you for your generosity. And if you say it's good, I'll go out and see the movie. Meanwhile, we'll see how many comments you receive from people other than myself...
